Florence Receives “New Ideas Award” from Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Ranks #8 Among Top Workplaces

ATLANTA–(Business Wire)–On March 10, 2022, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution chose Florence Healthcare as the recipient of their “New Ideas Award” for Atlanta workplaces. Florence also earned the #8 spot on the list of Top Small Workplaces out of 175 applicants in the category.

Florence won the “New Ideas Award” over all competing businesses across Atlanta. The New Ideas award is given based on employees’ anonymous responses (from strongly disagree to strongly agree) to the statement “New ideas are encouraged at this company.”

One employee wrote, “Management is available and open to hearing new ideas, methodologies and process improvements. Any team member at any level has the ability to reach out and be heard. Mistakes along the way are embraced and managed, and ‘breaking’ things in pursuit of better options is encouraged.”

“Two of Florence’s core values are ‘speak up’ and ‘experiment; mistakes are okay,’” said Florence CEO and cofounder Ryan Jones. “We’re so proud that our employees have taken that to heart and that we’ve built an environment where people feel safe sharing new, better ideas.”

Florence won the #8 spot among Small Workplaces because employees agreed with statements like, “I believe this company is going in the right direction,” “My job makes me feel like I am part of something meaningful,” and “This company operates by strong values.”

“We want to transform clinical trials, and to do that, we have to take care of our team,” said Gia Ganesh. As the VP of People and Culture at Florence, Ganesh has led initiatives like company-wide goal planning, career conversation weeks, cultural events, and a hybrid workplace transformation.

Florence has in-person and remote employees in Atlanta, GA, Belgrade, Serbia, and other locations around the world. They are currently hiring for more than a dozen positions.

“We’re always looking for people who care deeply about progress in life science and about the well-being of their coworkers to join our team,” Jones said. “Every person we hire plays a critical role in making Florence a great place to work.”
